Camp Summit Information

The Summer Camp Experience

Camp provides your child a week of fun where they have constructive, supervised activities to engage in. Camp is not just a retreat, we provide structure and opportunity to learn new skills, experience new and exciting things. Your child will be cared for by a carefully selected and trained staff, eat three meals a day, and learn about God.

Your child will be in a group of 8-10 boys or girls with a counselor. this group of students grow and bond together while they are competing in team challenges and experiencing camp.

Counselors provide daily devotions from the Bible that give students a better understanding of the scriptures and how to apply it to everyday life.

Whether it's playing a game of Ga-Ga ball or fishing on the lake, rest assured we have your child's safety as a top priority. Each of our staff are trained in First Aid and CPR.

Summer Camp Leadership

All camp staff understand the importance of the role they play in tehir camper's lives, and approach their jobs responsibly with caring hearts. Counselors share expertise in their skill areas and help to make activities challenging and fun.

Our hiring process is very selective, it takes months of traveling and meeting candidates, conducting a series of interviews and background checks. Our counselors have a passion for working with kids of all ages and are energetic  to bring fun and entertainment that camp should have. Each summer we spend more than a week training our staff on how to facilitate the activities and how to care for children and teens and much more.

Medication

If your child takes medicine please include enough to last the week at camp. Medicine will be collected in (original labeled containers) and stored by camp staff before we depart for camp. While at camp all medicine is required to be locked in the office ad distributed by staff. We keep very careful records of when and what medicine campers take.

Lice

AS you may know lice has become a growing problem in the Quad Cities. Several years ago we began screening each camper for lice before they can attend camp to prevent any spread to other campers. If lice or nits are found to be presents at the time of pick up your child will not be permitted to attend camp unless approved treatment measures are taken. You may contact us or Lice Clinics of America for more information on screening and/or treatment.

Severe Weather

Because we live in the midwest the weather in the summer time is often unpredictably that is why we are in constant surveillance of the weather via the internet and weather radio to keep your child safe. We also have protected storm shelters in case of emergencies.

Behavior Policy

In som instances campers must be removed from the camp environment. Please understand that if camp staff determines that your child is not willing, or is unable, to abide within the camp guidelines, we will notify you. If together we are unable to correct the behavioral situation, your child may be sent home early from camp.

Phone Calls

Please reserve use of the camp telephone for emergencies. While campers are at camp it is important that we avoid calls from home that sometimes bring homesickness in your campers. Her is our phone number if you must get a hold of us at camp, please ask for Devin, Camp Director (309) 623-4371.
