Marvel lives in downtown Chicago, was born in Geneva, Illinois and grew up in Kampala Uganda with her parents. She joined Camp Summit in 2021 and was an awesome camp counselor! We are thrilled to have her back as the Assistant Director for the 2nd year!

Marvel graduated from Moody Bible Institute with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications! Marvel plans to become a professor, enjoys creative arts a whole, and has recently become interested in photojournalism.

I work in Residence Life and hope to begin my MA in Counseling this Fall. I'm passionate about the arts, story-telling, education, non-profit work, and counseling. I envision a life that utilizes and marries them all. I'm called to teach, lead, and be part of God's transformative and restorative work in whatever form that takes.

The uniqueness of Camp Summit drew me to it; being able to work with majority kids with the same demographic as me pulled me greatly! I have always loved camp ministry and didn't think I'd find in a small little town in Illinois a camp that hosts kids mostly from Africa but I did!

My life has continuously been made richer because of Camp Summit. What keeps me here is the sweet meeting place where my love for kids, working with youth and seeing God move all comes together!

Fun Fact: Marvel is a left handed and a spoken word artist!
