Mark Drake served as YouthHope’s Executive Director from 1988-2024. His passion, vision, and leadership gifts have grown this ministry to serve over 500 children and teens weekly! He brought the organization out of debt, expanded staff and administration, built two Youth Centers, Camp Summit, and started dozens of community outreaches. During his time at YouthHope, thousands of students have learned about the love God has for them.

Mark grew up in Moline, and now resides in Rock Island, Illinois, with his wife Sarah. Together they have three grown children and three children-in-law. He has a deep-rooted love for the Quad Cities and a heart for the youth in our community. After Mark accepted Christ in college, he utilized his strengths of leadership and adventure to further the gospel by leading Bible studies, guiding Wilderness Outward Bound experiences, smuggling Bibles in Eastern Europe in 1987, and served briefly as a youth pastor.

He loves his family, quiet mornings, nature, road trips, and most importantly, the Lord is at the center of his life. Mark has led YouthHope by example in pursuing authentic relationships with kids and teens, staff, volunteers, and supporters.
